Windows XP Service Pack 3의 새로운 기능

SP3의 신기능들

- SP3에서는 윈도 비스타에 탑재된 자체 프로토콜 기능 PNRP(Peer Name Resolution Protocol)를

 지원하는 것이 가장 큰 특징. 이에 따라 XP 애플리케이션이 PNRP를 사용하는 비스타와 통신할 수 있게 됐다.

- IEEE 802.11i 규격에서 파생한 최신 무선 시큐리티 솔루션 WPA2 지원.

- ‘블랙홀 라우터 검출' 기능을 XP2 보다 크게 개선했다. ‘블랙홀 라우터’란 특정 경로로 가는 패킷이 중간에

  사라지는 현상을 뜻한다.

- ‘MS 시스템 센터 컨피그래이션 매니저 2007’ 및 ‘윈도 라이브 원케어(MS 개인백신)’ 탑재.

- 3.0버전에서 발견된 취약성을 수정한 ‘윈도 인스톨러 3.1’ 탑재.

- 로그인 한 사용자 각각에게 애플리케이션과 서비스에 대한 접근 권한을 자동 부여하는 ‘DIMS(Digital

  Identity Management Service) 기능.


- 2008 서버, 비스타에서 지원하는 기능인 Network Access Protection(NAP) 서비스 탑재

  바이러스, 웜, Malware 등이 문제를 일으키며, 여러 장소에서 여러 장비들이 Public 네트워크를 통해 회사

  로 접속되는 불안한 고객의 환경을 보다 안전하고 건강한 환경으로 고객의 요구에 따라 네트워크, 호스트,

  어플리케이션을 선택적으로 조합해서 구성할 수 있도록 해 줍니다.


- 듀얼/쿼드 코어 지원코드 추가.(비스타는 듀얼~옥타코어까지 지원하고있다)

  이제 듀얼 옵티마이저를 따로 설치하지 않아도 됩니다.


- 현재까지의 모든 핫픽스와 보안패치 포함.

Windows XP Service Pack 3 Release Candidate 2 Refresh

Overview

Microsoft is allowing Windows XP Service Pack 2 machines to be offered Windows XP Service Pack 3 Release Candidate 2 Refresh via Windows Update. You may also download standalone update packages for Windows XP SP3 RC2, in English, German, and/or Japanese. Windows XP Service Pack 3 will be offered on Windows Update when Service Pack 3 releases in the first half of 2008.

System Requirements

  • Supported Operating Systems: Windows XP Service Pack 2

Windows Service Pack 2 is required in order to install this preview. Please uninstall any previous beta release of Service Pack 3 before installing SP3 RC2.

Instructions

To obtain RC2 via Windows Update, download the script and run it on a machine currently running Windows XP Service Pack 2. The script sets a registry key on your system. The registry key is required for Windows Update to recognize your machine as a valid target for Windows XP Service Pack 3 RC2 Refresh.

Versions of Windows XP Service Pack 3 prior to Release Candidate 2 should be removed before attempting to use the registry key. Windows Update will not offer Release Candidate 2 to machines with previous versions of the Windows XP Service Pack 3 beta.

It is recommended that you apply the resulting update package to an activated, genuine copy of Windows XP, in a test environment. As with any pre-release software, it is also recommended that you back up files and settings on your machine before applying this update package.

Alternatively, you may choose to download the standalone update packages for Windows XP SP3 RC2, in English (ENU), German (DEU), and/or Japanese (JPN).
